Cadence Chiropractic - ...The Gait To Your Horse's Health
IVCA Certified Equine Chiropractor

Chiropractic is a health care discipline that emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.  The practice of Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.

Misalignments in the spine are called subluxations.  These subluxations may be caused by stress, trauma, improper saddle fit, etc.  Vertebrae that do not function properly within the spinal framework generate mechanical stress.  This stress will eventually lead to pain, inflammation, decreased range of motion, muscle spasm and other compensatory changes.

A chiropractic adjustment is a specific, quick but gentle controlled thrust done by hand that targets a specific joint.  The purpose of a chiropractic adjustment is to remove the subluxation.  By removing the subluxation, motion is restored to the joint which in turn decreases inflammation, pain, and muscle spasm while increasing function, health and performance.  When a horse has proper spinal alignment they are better equipped to deal with the everyday demands of their job with enhanced performance and overall health.

***Please note that Animal Chiropractic DOES NOT replace traditional Veterinary care.  Animal Chiropractic is to be used and integrated with concurrent  Veterinary care.
